Nyrthos Beta is rocking for some time now!

Hi Nyrthos fans!

As we completed one of our milestones and added new character renders and animations into the game, we figured it‘s time to find a moment to let you know about the current state of development and about the (exciting!) future we have planned for our game.

1) TECHNOLOGY - Android demo coming!

Yeah, you heard it here first! It‘s coming. It won‘t be a "full" version, but rather a "demo", containing a level or two. Of course it will be completely free for you to download and play. We‘ll use it to get first feedback about the game‘s performance and playability on your mobile devices. Let‘s see where it takes us

What are we working on?

Revamping the main character. We knew he was hideous and we promised to take care of it - it needs to be done before we push the game out. Story design. The game will be divided into acts, which can be replayed over and over again. Players will also have an opportunity to choose the difficulty. Improved character development and mechanics. Active / passive skill tree, better character AI, improved combat system.

2) CONTENT - Acts 2 and 3, expanded Wilderness

A number of players already completed the game on all the difficulties (before the balance changes our last patch brought). They want more - and we‘re almost ready. More maps, more tilesets, new enemies, you name it. Expect the game content to double or triple during the next few weeks.

So how far is it? The second act of Nyrthos will be released already in our next update. Though it will shorter than act 1 (it will feature two new maps), it will give you something to play until we finish the full-blown act 3. We‘re also adding new Wilderness maps.

3) ACHIEVEMENTS AND MASTERIES

Everyone knows achievements, so I‘ll just skip to level masteries. Each time a player will beat a map, he will get "score points" based on how successful he was (number of killed enemies, number of destroyable objects he crushed, how many collectibles he collected etc.). These scores will be tied to the specific map. By playing this map for multiple times, the scores will add up to grant the player a "mastery" - so basically, just as you level up your character, you will be able to level up these masteries.

Players will be rewarded by gold, diamonds, or even bonus stats for their characters.

4) Fixes and Improvements

You surely noticed that there are still many imperfections and bugs in the game. Most of them are not "critical" (in the sense they don‘t make the whole game unplayable), and that‘s why they didn‘t get enough attention before. Expect the whole user experience and immersion to improve drastically as we‘re about to start tying all these loose ends.

5) COMMUNITY

Our player base grows steadily, and we really need a place to interact with them freely and effectively. Our past forum eventually got overrun with spambots, so we decided to delete it all, but we‘re about to start again with strict registration rules.

Welcome to our brand new blog!

Hi everyone!

Here, you will find updated information about Nyrthos‘ development. Be sure to check back from time to time. Let‘s start by talking about what‘s on our minds right now, and what‘s coming.

Alpha will soon be over; Beta version is getting pretty close!

Our initial alpha testing phase proved to be a great success. Though many of features were incomplete or missing altogether, we had an awesome opportunity to see if we were heading in the right direction. Our design goals are very clear now - replayability, longer gameplay and new content, stuff to bring players back daily.

What are we working on?

New feature - Free Roam

This feature will give players a chance to travel across the world - indefinitely and without any limitations. Your character starts his journey in the initial area, and the further he gets from there, in any direction, the more challenging the game becomes. There will be a lot of stuff to discover for the ones that are worthy.

Free roam is separated from "Acts" which are focused on telling the story of Nyrthos.

What to Expect?

Once in a few weeks, we will publish a new blog article. Our first milestone is wrapping up and releasing the beta version. After that, we plan to put some time into the Android version of Nyrthos that we‘re constantly being asked about.
